THE UNFINISHED SERIES with Claudia Witbooi aka "YOMA" and HemelBesem #TUSxDanine

A power couple. Two forces in one punch. A stroopsoet combo with edge and grit in all the right places. I sat down with YOMA and HemelBesem two years ago, 26 April 2018.

With Mother's Day taking place in South Africa tomorrow, I think it's fitting to shift my nod to YOMA, who had released her album called "Moedertaal" two months prior to this interview (21 Feb 2018). The plot twist with the body of work, it was recorded while pregnant with firstborn, Engel. Songs include, My Boontjie, My Pens, Water Breek and My Blom. Quite literally, a musical trip and treasure with Claudia through all the wonders of pregnancy, from start to finish.

I asked "the awkward comparison" question and felt really gripped by the dynamic of this couple's energy. Salute beautiful souls. May your love and commitment to the arts continue to inspire the world.
